Summer Quaker by Lila’s Studio

Unique to Quaker samplers is the inclusion of bold and intricate medallions and half medallions, often lined up along the edge as a border. The focal point of the sampler is a bustling little town and the pictorial scene of the Sea which evokes the pleasant memories of Summer.

The design of the sampler is inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s quote — ‘Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink the wild air.’
