I bought a box of vintage silk-stocking mending threads, thinking that they would make good colours for tacking old torn samplers onto new linen for support, but then I had an idea… They are the perfect colours of a faded, old sampler. So, Ida’s sampler was created. The motifs are all mending related or are things which have caused my tights to snag – and obviously a cup of tea is always needed when stitching.
