The antique was stitched on 14-count perforated paper. The words were stitched on a 25-count perforated paper and attached to the main piece… Perforated cardboard was introduced in the 1820s. It was mostly used for small sayings and bookmarks. It grew more popular in the 1870s and then started to decline by 1910.
