Seeds of Freedom by Silver Creek Samplers

$14.00

From the designer —

This sampler was inspired by a poem that my grandpa taught me as a child to help me remember key dates of the Civil War. In July 2013, our Boy Scout troop camped in Gettysburg, PA during the 150th anniversary celebration of the battle. I worked on this while relaxing at our campsite making this sampler not only a part of my camping memory, but a part of history as well. I added the final verse of this sampler to help remind me to continue tending the seeds of freedom that were sown many years ago.

“Twas eighteen hundred sixty one the Civil War had just begun / In eighteen hundred sixty three Lincoln declared all slaves free / In eighteen hundred sixty five few good men were left alive / I’ll pay respects to all I owe & help their Seeds of Freedom grow”
