INDUSTRY NEWS
TARIFFS: Yes, they are going to impact our industry just not 100% on how much or what products. I just received a specific yard of fabric, not a hand-dye, that was $77/yard when I ordered it a couple months ago and is now over $100. That’s a significant increase. :/

Now that Nashville is over for another year, have had many questions about why we don’t carry designs by Brenda Gervais. I don’t have a PC way to say it so here’s the straight scoop. I have tried to bring these designs in, but do not get a response to my many emails. She was in Nashville and my intent was to bring them home. However, before Nashville, I learned that Brenda is not interested in doing business with new shops. Even though I pay up front for all my orders, she only wants to do business with her existing accounts or those she knows. That being said, it is her business to sell to whom she chooses. There are so many fabulous designers out there that I have moved on. Unfortunately, I am not able to get these designs by the designer’s choice. I have never met her so cannot speak to anything other than it is her business choice. If these are a must-have for you, I recommend that you order from an established mail order or shop. I’m sorry that I cannot help you with these designs. And that’s the story. Nothing more to it than that. 🙂

May’s choice is –

May 21 6:30-8:30PM

Registration is required. If you can’t make it and have registered, please let me know so I can reach out to anyone on the Wait List. Book Club meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the following upcoming dates –

April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17

Have created a library of sorts for those who might like to read previous selections. They can be “checked out” at no charge for a 2-week period.

SUNDAY STITCH NITES

Apr. 6, May 4, June 1, June 22, July 6, July 20, Aug. 3

Only one in April (Easter) and May (daughter’s wedding)

We are full for the April 6th Nite. If you’ve previously registered and are unable to attend, please let me know as those on the Wait List would love to attend! If there is a need to cancel (doubt snow will be a factor at this point), it will be posted online via Instagram, Facebook and the website (threadedneedle.org).

CLUBS, CLUBS and CLUBS
Sampler Club: Beginning Wednesday, May 7 we are starting a sampler club. 6:30-8:30PM every 1st Wednesday of the month is a time to gather and work on whatever sampler you have going or start a new one. Only sampler stitching on this day. 😀 Registration required, but no fee. 🙂

WIP Club: Beginning Wednesday, May 14 we are starting a work-in-progress club. 6:30-8:30PM every 2nd Wednesday of the month is a time to do some focused stitching on any WIP in your basket. Registration required, but no fee. 🙂

Book Club: Already talked about above, but Book Club meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Holiday Club: Beginning May 28, 6:30-8:30pm, we will meet to work on holiday stitching. Any holiday, real or made up, just has to be a holiday project. 😀 Registration required, no fee.

New Project Club: Beginning Tuesday, June 3, 6:30-8:30PM, we will meet to stitch whatever NEW project you have in mind. Your first stitch must be made that night otherwise it would be a WIP. 😀 Can’t wait to hear the stories about why you chose that particular piece to start. Registration required, no fee.

Space is limited for each Club night, so registration is a must. A Wait List will be created if necessary. These should be so much fun and look forward to each one!

WHAT ELSE?
USPS Changes: Still no specifics just rhetoric that changes are coming. Slower deliveries for around 50% of all mail, but don’t quote me there. Until we have details, it’s really hard to say how this will impact the mail order side of our business as well as custom orders.

UPCOMING CLOSINGS
Sat. Apr. 19 – Sun., Apr. 20 (Easter)
Fri. May 16 – Sat. May 17 (daughter’s wedding)

REMINDER: Summer Hours kick in Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The only change is that we will be closed on Sundays effective May 25. We will reopen again on Sunday effective Sept. 7. Hard to believe it’s time for summer plans already. 😀

  1. Tariffs are not affecting your fabric price. Cost Of goods is. The tariffs only went into effect yesterday. All designers said there were price increases coming right after Nashville.

    1. Hi Irene, tariffs that impact shipping charges on imported goods, may well impact cost of goods. Fabric comes from Germany. DMC comes from France. There are designers in many different countries. Time will tell how or if we are impacted. Let’s hope we are not. But it’s wise to be aware.
