New DMC colors – What a mess this is! Like you I keep seeing ads that look promising and legit. I’ve been watching DMC’s official website as well as my email for announcements from distributors. There’s been nothing. Which I find very odd. I asked one of my distributors about it. They wrote to DMC who said there are no new colors. I went to DMC’s site this morning (Homepage) and there isn’t anything about new colors. I also checked their official Facebook page (Facebook) for any announcements and there are none. Yet, just last night, there was another post on IG. Soooo… in the hopes of getting the official word, I have written to DMC. Once I get the official answer, will pass that along.
EVENTS
PAJAMA PARTY (Pajama Party)
March 13-15, 2026
Hilton Garden Inn Worcester, MA
Registrations are currently at 60! Woot Woot! We are very excited to see everyone! Max attendance is 100. If you’re thinking about joining us, don’t wait too long! Would hate to have to add you to the Wait List!
Rooms are still available at the Hilton Garden Inn, but the special block of rooms is full. We aren’t able to get more.
We will create a Facebook page for this event once we get a little closer. Updates will be posted there as well as on the shop page and our website.
Question from a stitcher: Will you have assigned seating?
Answer: We did talk about this and decided that we would not be doing that. You will be able to save seats for each other, but we will not be coordinating that.
SAL: American Flag Quilt Sampler by Rosewood Manor

Our 4th gathering of this year-long SAL was just so much fun! Lots of progress from each of us. Collaborating with others helps make this challenging design a little easier. There are differences between the original version and the updated one so it’s helpful to have each other. Here’s the latest pic of some of the pieces –

We meet the 4th Sunday of each month, 5-8PM with the next session on Nov. 23. GOAL: 5 state quilt squares.
Subsequent Sundays are Dec. 28, Jan. 25, Feb. 22, Mar. 22, Apr. 26, June 28 (final).
If you join via Zoom, please watch for the call-in info. It is posted on Facebook several hours before the start time.
Change of venue for the Nov. 23rd gathering. We will meet at Appletree Fabrics Quilt Shop in Auburn, Home | Appletree Fabrics | 850 Southbridge St Auburn, MA 01501. This one session will be open to all even if you aren’t stitching this sampler. Those that are, it’s a great opportunity to meet others involved in the SAL and share stitching stories of each state’s square. While their meeting space is much larger than Threaded Needle’s, registration is still required as folks from both shops will attend.
CLASS
Off the Common Antiques, Grafton, MA
4 Worcester St., Grafton (It’s literally just off the Common :D)
Thursday, 11/13, 6-7:30PM
We have been invited to teach a class at Off the Common Antiques in Grafton! Very excited about sharing our love of cross stitch with a new group of folks.
There are a few seats still available for anyone interested in joining us. It’s a short notice but figured if anyone had time available, you could join in.
We’ll be stitching this gingerbread sled ornament. It’s on 14 ct. Perforated Paper. Paper, chart, DMC thread, sled and needle are all provided in the class kit. Cost is $25. Registration deadline is 6PM tomorrow, 11/1, as I need time to order the class supplies and make sure they get here in time.
Interested? Just let me know. 🙂

Stitcher question: Can I come to just one meeting if my schedule allows or do I have to come to all of them?
Answer: Come to one, two or all, it’s up to you! Registration is required, but other than that, would love to have you join in when you can.
The library of previously read books is at the shop and available for borrowing. There is a 2-week limit although I do confess, we don’t charge late fees. :D:D
SUNDAY STITCH NITES
Next Stitch Nite is Sunday, Nov. 2, 4:30-8PM. We are full but do have a Wait List. If you’re previously registered and your plans have changed, please let me know sooner rather than later so I can reach out to folks who are waiting to join in.

No fee, but registration is required so we ensure there are seats for all. We set up differently depending on how many are coming. There’s room at the table. Let me know if we’re setting a place for you. 🙂

MORE STUFF!
My sincere thanks to Rachel, Maria & Darlene who have shared some of their finished stitching pieces so that we can enjoy them here at the shop. They’re absolutely lovely!
Mini sleds

are back in stock! If you’re looking for them, we have them! Reserve however many you want! Stitch all you want, we’ll get more. (hahahahaha)
FOOD DRIVE
The Grafton Food Bank is in need of some items. We are offering our shop as a drop-off location if anyone would like to help them help our neighbors, your kindness is much appreciated.
There are multiple ways to help –
- Pull from your personal pantry. Keep our youngest neighbors in mind as many times they are preparing food without the assistance of an adult. Cans with pop-top lids are good.
- Buy from the Urgent Needs list provided by the Food Bank. It’s listed below.
- Donate gift cards. The Food Bank has arrangements with local grocers and their dollars stretch much further than our own. A generic Visa/MC/AmEx gift cards are so helpful.

The bin to drop off food is outside the shop during normal hours. We don’t leave it out when we’re closed, but if you’d like to leave food items, just place them on the Welcome bench to the left of the door. Please do NOT leave gift cards or cash. Bring that into the shop.
Question from a stitcher: How long will you be doing this?
Answer: For now, we haven’t set an end date. The need is so great and food insecurity is scary! If our efforts help, we want to help.
