For those waiting for her newest designs to arrive… myself included 😀 Received this email today and thought I’d share —
Hey friends,
Thank you for your order of our new Christmas releases. We appreciate your business.
If you received a confirmation email after you placed your order online, that means we got your order.
As you can imagine, we have a fat stack of orders and we are working through them as quickly as possible. We’re a small operation….just Kevin and Kyle work on packing and shipping because there’s no room for anyone else to work over there.
They do their best to fill the orders in the order they were received. When we have a new release it usually takes 2 weeks to work through them all. We started shipping Monday, November 18th so it’s only been a week and a day. With Thanksgiving only a couple of days away, it will take longer than 2 weeks this time.
We’re sorry but we can’t tell you where you are in the queue. We are getting many emails asking this question and we understand but we can’t possibly check for everyone who’s asking as it takes time away from getting the orders out the door.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving!
============================
Yes, I do have the confirmation email so all we can do is wait. It’s a bummer when something so wonderful is out there! Hope this helps. 🙂 ~Alice

INDUSTRY NEWS Below is an excerpt from an email received from Wichelt Imports, the sole U.S. distributor of all things Mill Hill. It’s actually very exciting to hear that there’s a new partnership between Wichelt and Just Another Button Company who will supply all their buttons for their kits and will eventually replace all buttons used in the various charts out there.
It’s been impossible to get them in when ordered and now we know why. There will be a transition period, of course, but JABC products are beautiful, well-made and really accent any piece they are used in. Here’s a clip from the actual email that explains what’s going on –

Currently working with Dirty Annie’s to find a time that works for both of us. Will likely be after Nashville. 🙂
The beaded bag is coming right along. Am currently stitching the prototype as I wait for beads to arrive. Finding just the right ones to bring this design to life has been challenging, but fun. Mill Hill beads were my first choice, but they don’t have the right colors so am currently sourcing others. The plan is for a pincushion and scissor fob.
EXCLUSIVE DESIGNS
Can finally share the finished designs that will be exclusive to Threaded Needle. They should be here in the next week or so. I’m so excited to have worked with Marcia at Cross Stitch Wonders to get what’s in my head out of there and out for you all to see, stitch, share and enjoy!
Preorders are open now and can be held for you or shipped out when they arrive.

GRAFTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY So exciting! We are a go for starting reproduction work with the Historical Society! Have my first assignment and my brain just cannot shut off! 😀 A beaded bag is their choice to begin with. Cannot wait to get started and eventually get to the incredible samplers that are there. Nothing like breathing new life to our history. Stay tuned as we progress on this journey. And if you haven’t, do visit and check out the beautiful work they have there. I’ll be working on this project every Sunday from 2-4PM on site. Jim will be at the shop to help you out. Come visit either at the shop or at the Historical Society. 🙂
WHAT ELSE? Have been working with Marcia at Cross Stitch Wonders and will soon have three exclusive designs to share with you. They will only be available through this shop for the next year. It’s been so much fun creating with her. Can’t wait for you to see them!
All orders from Needlework Marketplace have arrived and are out for your viewing pleasure. 😀 Hundreds of new designs are in the shop between Marketplace and all the other designers putting out their weekly goodies.
Work on the thread wall continues as we make room for more! I do believe the next thread to start bringing in will be Needlepoint Inc silk. That’s not 100%, but pretty darn close.
GOOD HEALTH WISHES: Several folks are recovering from some major surgeries, illnesses and personal loss. You are always on my mind. Collective thoughts can be helpful. Just know that you are wished the very best on your recovery journey and I look forward to seeing you.
You really MUST come see this sampler! Discovered it during our antiquing adventure the other day. It is an active reproduction out of Canada and I’m hoping to get it for the shop. This beauty was all of $11.00. Yep. No decimal error there. Eleven dollars!
There are a few chairs available for Stitch Nite. Don’t wait too long. I hate telling folks we’re full! Look forward to seeing you soon. ~Alice

NEEDLEWORK MARKETPLACE
This virtual tradeshow was insane! Designers absolutely outdid themselves with soooooooooo many new designs. Some have come in while the majority should arrive this week into next. As you walk into the shop there is an area set up on the right with every new chart that has come in. It changes almost daily!
2024 Virtual Needlework Marketplace <— This hyperlink takes you to a page where every chart is listed. It will say “in stock” if it’s come in. You are welcome to let me know if you want one held for you or mailed. Glad to do it!
An extraordinary number of new designers presented for the first time at this show. Here’s a list for you along with links to their dedicated pages that feature the charts we’re carrying. ENJOY!
I have had the incredible honor of talking with the folks at the Grafton HIstorical Society. They have a wonderful collection of samplers created by former Grafton residents as well as beautiful needlework on music bags and such. On Wednesday, 9/18 at 6PM, meet me at the shop. As soon as we’re closed am heading over there and would LOVE to share the experience with you. It’s powerful for sure. While the Society is open to the public, space is limited. I don’t want to overwhelm them with our enthusiasm. 😀 For this reason, please give me a call and register so I know how many are coming. If we have a big number, we can do it in 2 sessions, 6-7 and 7-8. It won’t take a full hour, but man is it inspirational! Hope you can join me! There is no charge for this little trip. 😉 Just pure joy in seeing what was created oh so long ago.
CLASSES YES YES and YES! Classes are beginning! We will start with these and see where it leads.

Looking for a place to meet your friends and stitch for a couple hours? I can help! From 9-11AM on Wednesdays, reserve the Flavin Table (that’s our stitching table) for you and 5 of your friends (max group size is 6). The shop isn’t open yet, but will be for you all. No charge for this but you do have to reserve the table. Just give me a call, email or stop by to reserve the table and time.
Just to clarify —
Out of respect for copyright, we are not able to accept returns on charts. I do thank you for understanding and supporting their designs. Same is true for threads and custom cuts on fabric. Thank you for understanding and supporting my commitment to protect copyright.
If you ask to have something pulled and held for you, gosh I’m thrilled to do so! Can hold it for you for 2 weeks, many times longer if possible. After that, it may go back out, but am always happy to order another for you if we are sold out.
And I do believe that’s a wrap! I’m sure there’s more I should tell you, but writing a novel wasn’t my intent. 😀 You can follow us on Instagram and Facebook for up-to-the-minute stuff.
Thank you so much for a fabulous August. See you soon either online or in person. ~Alice

Let’s go! The Big 3 Sale is now through July 31st! All in stock Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas charts are now on sale! Time to pad your stash and get a head start on your holiday stitching. Or, if you’re like me, its holiday stitching all year!
TRUNK SHOWS Both our trunk shows for our Grand Opening, My Sister’s Samplers and Frony Ritter Designs, were so well received. These designers do incredible work and we’re thrilled that their art was appreciated by you all.
Our next trunk show has shipped and should arrive within the week. We’re so honored to feature Finally a Farmgirl designs.
We’re also beyond pleased to feature Joseph’s Woodwork. Timing on this is a bit tricky as he is assembling stuff just for us so is hesitant to commit on a time. It will be a surprise when it gets here and I promise you’ll love it! We have some of his kits in stock now and his woodwork is just divine!
SUMMER HOURS Effective July 15, we’re modifying our hours just a tad to reflect the summer season —
AUTOMATICS Have had a few requests for automatics. My response to that is, why of course! If there is a designer that you collect or must have and want everything they come out with, just let me know. Will add you to the list and will keep you posted as their new work arrives. Not sure which designers we carry? Here’s the link to all our designers. That changes on a regular basis. And if there’s someone that you don’t see, just let me know. Absolutely love custom requests. It’s one of the ways we grow and find new designs to stitch — Products – Threaded Needle
NEW IDEAS Two questions for you —
Would you be interested in coming together to watch a movie and stitch? LIke Hamilton, or Disney or The Greatest Showman? Or TV shows like Outlander, NCIS, etc.? Let me know if that sparks your interest.
How about a book club? Read the book, then come together to talk about it and stitch the night away?
IN CLOSING New charts, fabrics, threads, etc. are ordered every week. If there’s something you’re looking for and don’t see it, let me know and we’ll do our best to get it. Some distributors and designers ship wicked fast and others are a bit on the slow side. We’ll manage that for you and let you know when they arrive.
Right now, Mill Hill products are only carried by one distributor. And they ship anywhere from 4-6 weeks. My latest order is over 7 weeks out. What does Mill Hill include besides beads and their fabulous kits? Perforated paper. The black perforated paper has been on backorder for forever. My latest order from Wichelt has finally shipped, 7 weeks later, and the black perforated paper didn’t make the cut. We will keep trying to get it in, but it will be a while unfortunately.
36 ct. Agave Edinburgh is a fabric that has been backordered by all three distributors for months now. Every week I order it and every week it is backordered by each. We will keep trying, but just keeping you in the loop.
Gosh, so much to talk about in this newsletter! Hope you have a glorious July and enjoy your summer. Come visit! There’s nothing like a visit from stitching friends.
Turkey, ham, stuffing, cranberries, sweet potatoes, etc., etc. etc. For years we have served the same food and for years there’s so much leftover.
Send it home with the girls. We do.
But still so much leftover. Freeze some.
Oh you all know the routine I’m sure!
So last year I decided to take inspiration from the first settlers whom we celebrate with this special meal each year. Our visit to Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts got me thinking. Let’s have a meal that’s truly reflective of those first colonists and the inhabitants of this land, the Wampanoag Peole, who were already here. If you’re interested, the book that has me so inspired is here —
At the risk of violating copyright, I won’t post recipes here, but history can be so exciting and inspirational. We are actually looking forward to our food prep this year. In light of this, my “big piece” for 2022 is also along these lines of a historical Thanksgiving.
This piece uses all DMC and would be perfect on any count of fabric. Am in stitching frenzy mode to see if I can get it finished and framed in time to hang on the wall for this year. That may be an overreach and I may settle for just finishing it in time. 😀 This is a pic of the completed piece from the chart itself —
Below is buying information for the supplies for this stunning piece. If you’re stitching for Thanksgiving, hope your projects get done in time and that the spirit of this special time, unique to Americans, brings you and your family tremendous memories to reflect on for years to come. ~Alice
