“Sweet Vilet let me ever be / A modest timid flower like thee / Let virtue crown my lovely head / And round my brow its fragrances shed”
“Emma Jane Keltner worked this sampler in the eleventh year of her age”
From the designer —
A large top-central star and a threesome of delightful red houses set the stage for her embroidered story. An overflowing rose cornucopia is central, along with multiple fruit baskets and flower pots. A few blue birds keep watch. The letter ‘O’ is missing in the word Violet in her verse.
